The Mission

the why, the where, the how

To Manchester. . .

England is one of the least evangelized places in the world, and the spiritual state of the UK is considered by many to be post Christian. The evangelical church has been diminished to the dying faith of the past generation and seen as completely irrelevant to the culture at large. Sadly, as of 2010 a study was done showing, there was only 1 Gospel preaching, Bible believing Church for every 60,000 people! That said, AT3 seeks to being back the true Gospel of Christ to this nation and their darkened hearts through the power of the Church. It is true in England that the harvest is plentiful but, the workers are few. Therefore, they are asking the Lord to send workers into the harvest field (Luke 10:2). We pray that as the true light of the Gospel shines in that dark culture, it will not be overcome by darkness (John 1:5). Now, God has given me an opportunity through AT3 and Converge International to follow this heart burden and fulfill this calling he has placed on my life!

Mission

to Be trained, and sent. . .

I was changed when I had the ability to see the incredible work being done through these three churches, and be humbled by there passion for Christ, the Gospel, and the lost.

Over the next two years, the Lord has given the unique calling and opportunity to serve the Church in Manchester, England. Last Summer in July I was able to Join and lead a team of six other GCU students to Liverpool, England where we helped support, encourage, and minister to three different churches within the City. During this trip I was changed when I had the ability to see the incredible work being done through these three churches, and be humbled by there passion for Christ, the Gospel, and the lost. During this trip I was about to meet my now dear friend Ken Lipoid, one of the Pastors at Christ Church Liverpool, who is also the founder of the Missions organization called AT3. The Alliance for Transatlantic Theological Training (AT3) is a ministry organization that trains and mobilizes Gospel workers to plant new churches and revitalize dying church in the UK.

The mission of AT3 is to recruit, send, and train capable leaders from both the US and the UK in order to revitalized the church in the England by partnering ministry trainees with young church plants or dying churches in two years of missionary service work. AT3 looks to recruit recent college graduates called to full-time ministry, who are dedicated to building the church for the sake of the Gospel.  Whether it be, leading worship, building leaders, evangelism, or preaching, these leaders will be working at local english churches full-time for two years. Along with this church work, each ministry trainee will complete a MTH in theology at Union School of Theology, in order to be fully equipped to plant at the end of the program. The goal of the program is to build dynamic leaders, who will then go and plant churches in the UK and the US in order to created transatlantic partnerships, so through the power of the Church God will revive the nation of England with the true Gospel of Jesus Christ.

The harvest in Manchester is ripe and it is has been our prayer that the Lord would raise up more workers for the field.
— City Church Manchester

MINSITRY: After many applications, Skype calls, emails, and interviews I have accepted a position as the 2016-2018 2 Year AT3 ministry trainee for City Church Manchester in Manchester, England. Ralph Cunnington, the Co-Pastor of City Church says, "Manchester has a population of just over 2.5 million people including almost 100,000 students. It is home to Manchester United and the BBC and has a thriving business and arts district. It is, however, a spiritually dark place with less than 4.7% of residents attending church." City Church was launched three years ago with the aim of reaching those who live, work or study in Manchester with the good news of Jesus. It has grown from 27 to 200 regular adults in that time and has plans to plant another church in 2020. The harvest in Manchester is ripe and it is has been our prayer that the Lord would raise up more workers for the field.  At City Church Manchester I am involved in Pastoral ministry; Reading the Bible 1to1, Personal evangelism, Bible study leading the midweek Connect group, and Pastoral visiting and Specific Strategic responsibility; directly overseeing the direction, leadership, training and delivery of the new university student at the church. My team and I will be developing vision, mission, Teaching and worship Ministries to Reach the 100,000 student who live in Manchester City!
